The Gogova Foundation is proud to announce an open call for participation in its third artists residency. The applications received will be reviewed by an Expert Committee, who will announce the recipient in January 2018. The selected artist will spend from one to two months in the residency and will present a solo project in Karachaevo-Cherkessia in March 2018.

BENEFITS OF THE WORKSPACE RESIDENCY:

– Workspace: Workspace Residents receive three months of free access to the B&W and Color darkrooms, Digital Lab and Shooting Studio at the International Center of Photography, as well as the Baxter St at CCNY facilities.

– Programs: Residents receive free admission to all 2018 Baxter St at CCNY events and a 10% discount on classes.

–Materials: Access to film and paper donated by Fujifilm and access to paper donated by the Awagami Factory.

– Stipend: Residents receive a monthly stipend of $1,000 for three months and donated material support during their residency.

The Alonzo Davis Endowment for Fellowships annually supports two fully-funded residencies of two weeks each for highly accomplished American visual artists, creative writers, and composers of African or Latinx descent. Residencies at VCCA include a private room, board, and an individual work studio.

The Steven Petrow LGBTQ Fellowship (est. 2016) is open to applicants working in all genres (writers, visual artists, and composers) and consists of a fully-funded two-week residency at VCCA during the Summer 2018 scheduling period (June through September). This fellowship includes a private room, all meals, and an individual work studio. Eligible applicants must self-identify as LGBTQ.

Sculpture Space invites artists whose focus is sculpture to apply for a two-month residency between February and November 2019. We offer a 5,500 square foot shared studio with specialized equipment in addition to five private studios. The Studio Manager provides assistance and technical expertise; the Operations Manager and Executive Director are available to assist with any other special requirements. Housing is provided a block away in a newly renovated residence.

All applicants must be United States citizens or legal Permanent Residents of the United States, 18 years or older, may not be enrolled in any degree program, and must be able to demonstrate need for a studio. Applicants may not be a resident artist in another studio program at the same time as the 2018-19 Smack Mellon residency.
