Call for artists, Climate Studio Residency, 2025, NYC, deadline April 15

Pratt Institute, in collaboration with Beam Center and Telos Learning, is proud to launch its new Climate Studio Initiative. Its mission: to expand climate literacy and promote climate justice through the creation of public art in the New York City area. We believe raising public awareness around climate issues will strengthen participation in the democratic process.

In its inaugural year, the initiative will host the Climate Studio Residency 2025, bringing together artists, scientists, and educators with youth from New York City. With funds of $4,000 per resident, this call is open to all applicants with a demonstrated interest in climate literacy or climate justice who meet the application criteria.

Applications are due April 15 2025.

Call for Canadian artists, General Idea Fellowship 2025, deadline April 4

The call for applications for the General Idea Fellowship 2025, which encourages and supports advanced research in contemporary art, is now open. Aspiring Fellows must apply before Friday, April 4, 2025, 11:59 PM EDT.

Established in 2021 by artist AA Bronson, FF Alumn, the Fellowship amounts to $15,000 and is open to Canadian and international art historians, curators, critics, conservators, graduate students, independent researchers and other professionals working in the visual arts, museology or related disciplines. The name of the recipient Fellow will be announced in early Spring.

Tree of Life welcomes applications from artists of recognizable artistic merit, age 60 and over, who are permanent residents of the United States. These individuals must work in visual media, which may include painting, sculpture, installation, works on paper, printmaking, photography, video, film, digital, or performance art; have a specific project that they wish to pursue; and have demonstrable financial need..

Applications will be accepted from February 28 through April 21, 2025.
