The application deadline for the Spelman College Summer Art Colony is
April 15. The focus of this three week summer workshop will be
creating environmental art projects in the rainforest and bay of Portobelo,
Panama.
The Art Colony www.spelman.edu/artcolony is open to all college
students and artists nationwide regardless of race, gender or
ethnicity. The Art Colony's fee is $1990 and will operate from May 16

Self-directed Arts Residencies
These nine unique studios , each designed by a distinguished Canadian architect, are located in a secluded wooded area of The Banff Centre. The studios offer a concentrated, retreat environment to professional artists engaged in the creation of new work.
Applications are accepted from artists of a variety of disciplines: writers, composers, singer-songwriters, visual artists, screenwriters, playwrights, literary translators, curators, art theorists, and professionals working in theatre, dance and film at the conceptualization or research stage of a project.

The Keyholder Residency Program offers emerging artists free 24-hour access to professional printmaking facilities to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Residencies are one year long and take place in the Printshop’s shared Artists’ Studio. Facilities are available for intaglio, relief, monoprint, waterbased silkscreen techniques, photo and digital processes, and other techniques that employ the tools at hand.

I am writing to inform you that the Spelman College Summer Art Colony is now
accepting applications for students and emerging artists interested in a
three week residency at Taller Portobelo in Portobelo, Panama May 16 - June
6, 2010.
Please note that the Spelman College Summer Art Colony is open to students
and emerging artists nationwide.
I am pleased to announce that this summer we will continue our focus on
creating large environmental art projects, earthworks and biodegradable
sculptures at Las Orquideas Environmental Sculpture Park in Portobelo.
Nevertheless, instruction in painting and drawing will still be available
for interested art colony residents.
2010 Artist in Residence Program: The Byrdcliffe Arts Colony / The
Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, located in the Catskill Mountains, Woodstock, NY
USA. Founded as an Arts & Crafts community in 1903, it has been a haven for
visual artists, potters, writers, crafts people, musicians and theatre
artists for almost a century. The Residency Program offers writers, visual
artists and composers one-month residencies from June-September. The cost
per 4 week session is $300. (Playwrights US citizens only may apply for the
Handel Fellowship.) (Writers under the age of 35, who need financial
assistance, may apply for a $100 scholarship from The Patterson Fund.)
