Mediterranean documentary and news reporting prize open for
submissions
Television organizations, production companies, writers, directors,
journalists and documentarians from MEDA countries may now submit
their audiovisual works (documentaries and news reports) for the 13th
International Prize for Mediterranean Documentary and News Reporting.
MEDA countries include Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon,
Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia. The submission deadline is
April 27.
Organized by CMCA (Centre Méditerranéen de la Communication
Audiovisuelle) in collaboration with RAI (Italian state TV), the
International Prize for Documentary and News Reporting recognizes
those who, through their works, contribute to a better understanding
Vienna fellowship open to experienced "culture" journalists
Experienced journalists who write about a European cultural issue are
invited to apply to the Milena Jesenská Fellowship Program for a
chance to spend three months at the Institute for Human Sciences
(IWM) in Vienna, Austria. Fellows will pursue in-depth research on a
European topic of their choice. The deadline to apply is March 31.
The European Cultural Foundation is co-hosting the program, along
with the IWM.
Fellows receive a stipend, IWM resources and travel grants.

The Tribeca Film Institute and Gucci announce new fund for
documentaries
Journalists have the opportunity to apply for the new Finishing Fund
for Documentary Films launched by the Tribeca Film Institute and
Gucci. The deadline to apply is April 11.
The Fund will offer finishing funds and post-production guidance to
independent filmmakers in need of finances to complete documentaries
that promote social change and illuminate issues in need of
comprehensive coverage currently missing from mainstream media.
Winners of the fund will receive grants totaling US $80,000 to a
minimum of three filmmakers. The Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund is
open to documentary filmmakers who have projects in production or
post-production. Recipients will be announced in the summer of 2008.

LA MAISON JAUNE is a residency program initiated in 2007 by PATRICIA LOW CONTEMPORARY, Gstaad, Switzerland. In a hamlet not far from where Balthus has lived and worked all his life, artists will be hosted in a beautiful 18th century chalet called “La Maison Jaune”. There, facing the mountains, we hope they will find inspiration and renew Gstaad’s link with the great artists of our time.
Climate Clock Global Initiative Call for Ideas
The Climate Clock Global Initiative is seeking ideas from artist-led
teams to create a major artwork entitled Climate Clock, which will
measure changes in greenhouse gas levels, and be the first in a series
of global projects calling attention to climate change. Climate Clock
will be an instrument of long-term measurement and will collect data
for 100 years. The artwork will be located in downtown San Jose,
California, Silicon Valley's city center, and will be a collaboration
between an artist-led team composed of artists, international and
Silicon Valley engineers and other creative professionals who are
working with climate measurement and data visualization. It is
