ABOUT
The Wassaic Project Summer Festival is an annual music and arts festival
that seeks to bring together artists of all disciplines, musicians in
varying genres, and the public to celebrate music and art in our historic
location.
The Summer Festival is a celebration of our annual programming. Artists in
Residents from the past year all participate in the festival, creating a
unique showcase of site specific and site sensitive work. Other artists in
the Summer Festival are curated from an open call by The Wassaic Project
staff and invited jurors, and invited Guest Curators.
Transart MFA & PhD: Call for Applications
International Low-Residency MFA & PhD Studies

TRANSART INSTITUTE seeks to attract independent, inquisitive and imaginative
artists to fill the remaining spaces on its low-residency MFA program. In a
uniquely international setting, Transart offers an accredited two year
course for working artists, teachers and all professionals in related fields
who are seeking advancement in visual arts and new media. The program
consists of three intensive summer residencies in Europe filled with
lectures, workshops, critiques, seminars, performances and exhibitions and
two shorter winter residencies in New York City. In the four semesters

The Calabi Portal Project RFQ
This is the first exploratory stage of a project which is a laboratory for
ideas and the imagination.
This competition is open to visionary designers, artists, architects, and
scientists, and any collaborative combination. All designs will be
theoretical. No background or experience in engineering, construction, or
actual fabrication materials is required as the structure will be
self-generating and assembling.
The challenge is to conceive of the possibilities of an architectural
visualization of10 dimensional space incorporating the six dimensional
Calabi-Yau manifold. The proposed structure is to take the form of what we
loosely describe as a “Tower”, and is open to interpretation. It may also
Diavolo Dance Theater, a premiere dance company based in Los Angeles, is seeking both men and women to join their 2011-2012 touring season. Performers must have a strong background in modern dance, contact improvisation and some gymnastics ability will help.
Diavolo is currently in its 12th season touring nationally and internationally (the only LA based dance company that travels the world). Artistic director Jacques Heim choreographed KA for Cirque de Soleil, which is currently running in Las Vegas. Diavolo Dance Theater is an award-winning multidisciplinary performance troupe that features an eclectic group of dynamic dancers, gymnasts and actors who fly across the stage on and around large-scale, architectural props and everyday items.

The Skirball Cultural Center is seeking an independent contractor to
oversee daily programs for families presented in the Skirball's
drop-in art studio.
Time frame:
The contract covers art studio programs from June 21 to September 11,
2011.
Applicants must be able to work 6-8 hour days—up to 35 hours per
week—each Tuesday through Saturday throughout this period, with the
possibility of occasional Sundays as well.
Responsibilities:
* Assist Family Programs staff with creation, coordination, and
implementation of drop-in art studio programs during the 2011
summer season.
* Run the drop-in studio program for the duration of the summer
season.
* Create daily signage, set up studio, and oversee volunteer and
intern studio assistants.
