The MAC (Metropolitan Arts Centre) will be a leading cultural and civic venue when it opens in the heart of Belfast's Cathedral Quarter in 2012. We now seek to make a key appointment.
Position: Curator
Salary: £34,549 - £37,206
You will be responsible for shaping the vision of The MAC's visual art programme by creating and curating an internationally relevant and innovative programme of work.

The Arts Council for Long Beach (Arts Council) is seeking proposals from artists and curators for temporary exhibitions and site-specific installations for The Collaborative, a visual art gallery in downtown Long Beach. This is an open call to professional artists and curators residing in the Greater Southern California region. Long Beach residents are encouraged to apply.
THE COLLABORATIVE
The mission of The Collaborative is to present exhibitions that raise awareness of emerging artists and new, innovative approaches to art. In addition, the gallery is intended to provide an urban space where groundbreaking artists have the opportunity to create new, site-specific installations.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its June 2011 art exhibition, "Nature" is now posted and ready to view on their website.
The gallery received submissions from 15 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 29 different states. Overall, there were 498 entries that were judged. Congratulations to the 60 international artists who were designated as this month’s winners.

About Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery
The HeArt Project seeks a Development and Communications Director to
lead its fundraising and marketing efforts. This position will report
to, and work closely with, the Executive Director in the following
areas:
Fundraising
- Plan and execute organizational fundraising strategy to raise
annual operating budget of $1M through foundation, corporate, government
and individual sources.
- Identify, cultivate, and develop on-going relationships with
foundations, corporations, partners, and individuals to promote and
publicize The HeArt Project's mission, secure financial support, and
expand The HeArt Project's visibility.
- Maintain fund development calendar, including timelines and
deadlines for all foundation and government grant applications, reports,
and site visits.

The photo contest, sponsored by The Washington Post, publishes outstanding photos under the broad theme of travel. Photographers are encouraged to experiment with lighting, angles, subjects and composition.
Photos must have been taken after July 31, 2010 and applicants can only submit one photo per person. To view photos that have already been submitted, click here.
The competition is for non-professionals and applicants may not earn more than 50 percent of their income from photography. Winners will have their photos published by The Post.

About the Freedom to Create Prize
Launched in 2007, the Freedom to Create Prize is a celebration of the courage and creativity of artists, and the positive influence of their work to promote social justice and inspire the human spirit. The Prize is open to all forms of art, in any creative field and any individual or group of any gender, religion or nationality.
In 2010, nearly 2,000 artists entered from more than 100 countries.
In 2011, a total prize fund of US$ 100,000 will be awarded to the winning artists and their nominated advocacy organisations to further the cause their artwork has highlighted.
