UC IRVINE’S CLAIRE TREVOR SCHOOL OF THE ARTS ARTISTS IN RESIDENCY

A new program for artists and curators has been introduced at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine.

Known as the Artists in Residence Program in Studio Art, it offers two learning tracks for artists and curators to learn, create, curate and exhibit at the School of the Arts.

The artist's track will take nine months to complete and will provide participants with studio space at UCI, as well as guidance and direction on creating art. The yearlong curator's track will allow participants to create their own art exhibition.

For more information about the program, visit http://air.arts.uci.edu, email artsoutreach@uci.edu or call 949-824-7125.

Fire Island Artist Residency announces the 2012 application cycle

"We live at an unusual moment, when queer and trans sensibilities are flourishing in a way I have not seen since the ‘70s. It's important to seize this moment and create opportunities that give safe and nourishing space to this phenomenon, to counteract the environment of distrust and even persecution that remains our everyday lot, despite our many advances. FIAR does this in spades." —AA Bronson
