Art in Odd Places (AiOP) is a non-profit public art project based in New
York City exploring connections between public spaces, pedestrian traffic,
and ephemeral transient interventions. For the past 7 years, AiOP has
presented a large-scale festival each year with an all volunteer staff.
Art in Odd Places aims to stretch the boundaries of communication in the
public realm by presenting artworks in all disciplines outside the confines
of traditional public space regulations. AiOP reminds us that public spaces
function as the epicenter for diverse social interactions and the unfettered
exchange of ideas.

This is a full-time on-site (no-telecommuting,) exempt/salaried position.
Occasional evening/weekend hours required to ensure smooth operations of all
performances and special events. Position will start immediately after
hire.
The PROGRAM DIRECTOR (PD), working closely with the Artistic Director and
Managing Director, is responsible for the overall project management of the
company, including the planning and physical realization of each production.
In addition to overseeing projects, the PD would research new opportunities
for long-term program development in areas such as university residencies
and partnerships with presenting organizations in order to ensure
sustainable earned revenue streams. The PD will also work closely with the

*PIANIST*
A Noise Within theatre company in Glendale seeks PIANIST for Spring
production of "Comedy of Errors." Pianist will accompany the production,
which will be set in the early 20th century, in the style of a traveling
vaudevillian/burlesque troupe. Rehearsals begin in February, performances
run through late May. Stipend: $500.
*JOB DESCRIPTION*
* PIANIST will serve as a sort of live sound designer/accompanist, much like
a pianist (or organist) would have during the showing of a silent film.
* PIANIST will assist Director in selecting music where there are actual
songs played, and also do some improvised playing.
* PIANIST may perform some minimal percussion from the piano (cowbells,
slapsticks, wood blocks, etc.).
