Spelman College Summer Art Colony 2011 is
now accepting applications. The Art Colony will take place from May 15 -
June 5 2011 at Taller Portobelo in the village of Portobelo, Panama.

I would greatly appreciate your sharing this information with students and
emerging artists that you think would benefit from the experience. Do urge

only 10 residents.
I am also pleased to inform you that printmaker/installation artist Imna
Arroyo will join us as the 2011 Invited Master Artist-in-Residence.
Professor Arroyo was recently named Connecticut Sate University Professor by
the Connecticut State University Board of Trustees.
Bronx Museum of the Arts launches smART Power program to send U.S. artists
abroad to create community-based art projects. Applications accepted through February 28!
The Bronx Museum of the Arts has proudly launched the smARTpower program.
smARTpower will send fifteen U.S. artists abroad to work with local artists
and young people around the world to create community-based art projects.
The objective of smARTpower is to support the U.S. Department of State's
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs mission to increase mutual
understanding between the peoples of the United States and other countries,
emphasizing shared social and cultural values. The program will showcase the
role of visual artists as vibrant, engaged, and innovative partners in

For the 14th year running, apexart is accepting submissions for exhibition ideas where the winner will receive the funding and administrative support from apexart to mount a show in our Manhattan space.
apexart's Unsolicited Proposal Program asks for 600 word idea-based curatorial proposals for a group exhibition that will be evaluated by a large international jury. Submissions are reviewed solely on the strength of the idea; no previous curatorial experience necessary.
The two winning exhibitions will be presented in our 2011-2012 season.

HEIDI DUCKLER DANCE THEATRE (HDDT) is seeking a FULL-TIME PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Position Description:
This is a full-time on-site (no-telecommuting,) exempt/salaried position.
Occasional evening/weekend hours is required to ensure smooth operations of
all performances and special events. Position will start immediately after
hire.
The PROGRAM DIRECTOR (PD), working closely with the Artistic Director and
Managing Director, is responsible for the overall project management of the
company, including the planning and physical realization of each production.
In addition to overseeing projects, the PD would research new opportunities
for long-term program development in areas such as university residencies
and partnerships with presenting organizations in order to ensure
