rhythm of not one, but 27 countries! This year, the entire European
Union is invited to Europalia. The origins and evolution of Europe
and its culture can be characterized by, amongst others factors, the
circulation and dialogue of people between villages, regions,
countries and finally between continents. The development of trade

This year¹s Cut & Splice festival curates for the plate by sonically
exploring the social, political and cultural aesthetics of food. In Britain,
cuisine and grocery permeate all our lives - celebrity chefs and organic
food obsess us, obesity and food-scares plague us, lager and latté are our
life-blood. Cut & Splice considers ideas from consumption to excretion by
curating work from amongst the world's most pioneering artists working with
sound.

HEALTH CARE REFORM FOR ARTISTS AND THE SELF EMPLOYED
Dear Artists:
There is an effort to reform health care for Californians, but everyone
needs to voice support so that self-employed people--that means
artists!--will have affordable health insurance. Public officials have
been working on Bill AB8 for several months, improving it and making
some progressive changes that would help artists, but some issues still
need to be revised before this bill becomes law. Our understanding is
that the new combined bill could be voted to conference as early as July
11.
We believe it is critical that self-employed people be included in the
Dear Friends/Artists
I work at a Small Art Museum and am trying to put together some events. I am looking for persons who can do 30-40 minute presentations. I’m thinking persons who might have short films, art lectures, possibly poetry events, music i.e. experimental/acoustic/chamber (not a good venue for loud rock type), persons with books who like to talk about them etc.
These events would primarily be for special members events and member recruitment events. I will be doing 6 to 8 a year. I don’t have much of a budget so you should look at this as exposure, resume/cv builder or fun.
