b-side is a biennial multi-media, site-specific arts festival, animating public spaces in Weymouth and Portland, Dorset, England. Inspired by the 'flip' side of vinyl recordings, b-side offers opportunities for artists and audiences to explore the less commercial aspects of South West coastal resorts.

The Bluecoat is a contemporary arts centre in a Grade 1 listed building, the oldest building in Liverpool city centre, and offers a contemporary offer of visual art, literature, live art, music, dance, cabaret and comedy. The programme is presented through exhibitions, performances, residencies, cross-art happenings, community celebrations and a related programme of participation opportunities, talks, tours, publications and workshops. Moreover it is a catalyst for Liverpool's creative and cultural life, developing and engaging artists, creatives and audiences and aims to fashion 'wow' moments; events and happenings that are desirable, connective, inspirational and transforming.

German composer Marc Behrens will give a guest lecture at Concordia University’s Music Department this Friday at 14:15, room 8.245 (EA classroom).

Behrens’s work is focused on field-recording trips to remote corners of the world, concrete electronic music, installations, and social art work, as well as photograph and video.

Untuned Piano Project
Open call

SoundFjord has had the good fortune to come into the possession of an upright piano – a C. Bustard (from
Collard and Collard, London) – that has been in the Lewis family for around 100 years. The piano has recently
been restrung, but has not been tuned.

The current owner, had kindly loaned us the instrument until the end of the year. We are excited to have the
piano available for use at the gallery, Monday–Friday, from 07 November to 02 December 2011.

Whilst we have the piano we encourage interested parties to utilise the piano – and its untuned nature – in

SET Gallery is pleased to announce an Open Call from guest curator Agata Iordan for the show BRURAL: Art/&/of/♥/vs./or/Design

Brooklyn artists with formal design education and/or who work as designers are welcome to apply.

The exhibition will examine the nature of art and design, their boundary conditions, similarities and juxtaposition. It will include art works and samples of design from each artist. The art work in any media will be installed in the gallery, and the design project will be shown as documentation (sketches, drawings, photos, screenshots).
