ARCOmadrid 2012 call for applications for SOLO PROJECTS: FOCUS LATIN AMERICA
ARCOmadrid, holding its 31st edition from 15–19 February 2012, will present again its
SOLO PROJECTS: FOCUS LATIN AMERICA programme.
This year the section will work more than ever as a space showcasing the most recent Latin American creation. To do that we will count with the collaboration of a team of six curators: Cauê Alves (Brazil), Sonia Becce (Argentina), Patrick Charpenel (Mexico), Alexia Dumani (Costa Rica), Manuela Moscoso (Colombia) and José Ignacio Roca (Colombia) who will act as radars for the current Latin American art scene.

Plein-air painting became popular in the 19th century, first used by the Impressionist painters when paint was available in tube form and artists were able to take their canvases and easels outside. Painting their surrounding environment, artists were able to step out into the fresh air and be inspired by Mother Nature. This exhibition of contemporary Plein Air painting will be an amazing display of light and landscape that is sure to awaken the senses
