Open Call for Puppetry Acts
The Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles, seeks 8-10 puppetry performances for a one-day Family Puppet Festival on Sunday, April 7, 2013. The Festival will feature a wide range of puppetry, from small to large scale, utilizing diverse media, and drawing on a variety of cultural traditions.

Community Connectome presents Nurture The Environment on Sunday November 18, 2012 from 3-9pm featuring an art exhibition, musical performances, a conference, and creative re-use workshops. The underlying theme for this event is coastal conservation. All artists, speakers, and musical performances are involved purposefully to cultivate an environment of beach-lovers aiming to save their home while inspiring their neighbors to do the same. All ages are invited to come together and thrive in this culture we've created to promote the nurturing of the environment, our own bodies, and our own minds.

Eligibility: Artists/designers residing in the U.S. Previous public art experience required.
The Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) is commissioning two works of public art in the form of artistic, yet functional, bus stop shelters at existing bus stops in the Binghampton neighborhood. The Urban Art Commission is facilitating the project.

My empathic ability came through here. I often imagine I am the figures I paint. In this case I was playing with the mirror image in reverse so to speak.

Jim Millard, award winning artist and Signature member of the National Watercolor Society, understands and imparts what makes a successful painting from over 45 years as an art director/graphic designer, painter and teacher. His paintings are loose and expressive, exhibiting the freshness and fluidity typical of the California Watercolor Style. He is presenting ideas about how he creates his award-winning paintings.
