Since its founding in 1978, Künstlerhaus Stuttgart has developed into a contemporary art institution of regional and international significance. It is mainly financed through the city of Stuttgart. In addition to its exhibition and event program, Künstlerhaus hosts technical workshops and a studio programme.
The Artistic Director is responsible for:

2019 Sobey Art Award: call for nominations

The Sobey Art Foundation and the National Gallery of Canada today launched a call for nominations for the 2019 Sobey Art Award, Canada’s prestigious contemporary art prize. The annual award is presented to a Canadian artist aged 40 or under. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 1, 2019.

Tree of Life welcomes applications from artists of recognizable artistic merit, age 60 and over, who are permanent residents of the United States. These individuals must work in visual media, (which may include painting, sculpture, installation, works on paper, printmaking, photography, video, film, digital, or performance art), have a specific project that they wish to pursue, and have demonstrable financial need.
Applications will be accepted from February 15 through April 3, 2019.

New York, NY - The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and NYC Parks,
together with the Committee to Empower Voices for Healing and Equity,
today announced an open call for artists to design an artwork to fill
the space formerly occupied by a statue of J. Marion Sims, which was
removed in April 2018. The new artwork commission is part of the
Beyond Sims effort to transcend Sims' legacy of performing medical

Art of a Shaman – Part 1 is a new video presentation of shaman performance artist Frank Moore’s book by the same name. It features readings of the first 10 chapters of the book, with photos, film and video footage from Frank’s life and performances. The chapter readings are by people who played an important part in Frank’s life.
