Deadline June 25: Mural Arts Philadelphia invites visual artists to apply for the Tacony LAB Community Arts Center 2018 Fall Artist Residency. This 12-week residency, running September 10-December 2 and housed in a storefront arts hub on the Torresdale Avenue Commercial Corridor in Lower Northeast Philadelphia, is a unique opportunity to combine personal practice, community engagement, and the creation of civically-focused public art.
The resident artist will work with this historic and diverse neighborhood to develop an art project that brings community members together through collaborative creation, building relationships and encouraging neighborhood pride. The project must have a public visual component outside of the four walls of the LAB.

Happy Birthday, Marsha!, a film by by Reina Gossett and Sasha Wortzel, is hiring for the part-time position of distribution and outreach coordinator immediately. The position will coordinate Fall 2018 through Spring 2019 screenings at film festivals, colleges, museums, and community centers. The filmmakers are based in NYC, however this position could be done remotely.
Happy Birthday, Marsha! is a short film about iconic transgender artist and activist, Marsha "Pay it No Mind" Johnson and her life in the hours before she ignited the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City. The film stars Independent Spirit Award Winner Mya Taylor as Johnson with cinematography by Arthur Jafa and an original score by Geo Wyeth.
