ARC: ARTISTS' RESOURCE for COMPLETION Grant

Fourth Quarter Postmark Deadline is Wednesday, November 1, 2006.

ARC grants provide rapid, short-term assistance of up to $3,500 to individual artists who live in Los Angeles County. Funds must be used to enhance work that is near completion and scheduled for presentation between
December 15, 2006 and May 1, 2007. Artists in any discipline may apply.

Applicants must have a secure invitation from an established organization to present their work. There are four grant cycles per year.

Please note that the materials have been changed from previous cycles. The maximum grant award has increased to $3,500. There are also slight modifications to the guidelines.

The 7th Edition of Los Angeles' Leading Independent Film & Arts Showcase Unspools May 3-12, 2007

The organizers of Silver Lake Film Festival, Los Angeles' leading showcase for independent film and multi-media, have announced its seventh annual edition will be held May 3-12, 2007 at venues throughout Los Angeles' Eastside, including sites in Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park and Downtown.

The final deadlines for submission of films are:

• Short films – November 15th
• Feature films – December 31st

Registration for film submissions is via Without a Box:

A.I.R. Fellowship: 18-month sponsorship, solo show,
for NYC area women artists.

You are invited to submit your application to the Residency Program of Associação Binaural for 2007.

To facilitate the submission of your works we have extended the deadline to: October 31st, 2006

Associação Binaural is a portuguese non-profit artist-run cultural organization dedicated to local and international cooperation in the fields of media arts, social and environmental research.

The residencies will take place at Nodar Guest Studio (NOGS), situated in the rural community of Nodar, a small village in the north of Portugal.

Short film being shot in November needs 6-8 abstract paintings by a Los Angeles artist. These works will be featured in a gallery setting as (fictionally) the work of a character in the story. Seeking dramatic, abstract pieces in a series by one artist; preferably horizontal
formats. We will give full acknowledgement to the artist and contact information in credits, plus DVDs of the finished film. Release to domestic and international film festivals. Please send websites or samples of work. Thanks!
