Program's specificity
The MAPS – Arts in Public Spheres Master program is a 2-year degree in the visual arts, addressing artists and other creative professionals wishing to question the contemporary artist's relation to the public sphere.

I am pleased to let you know about the MA in Arts and Humanities program here at California State University Dominguez Hills. The Masters in Arts and Humanities (previously called the Humanities MA) is an exciting 30 unit degree, with a new option of Comprehensive Exams (or Thesis if the GPA is 3.75 or above) as the Culminating Experience.

The degree is interdisciplinary and cross-cultural, with training in film, art, music, philosophy, literature, and history. There is no other program like it in the LA area.

The program is unified by the theme of the city—the urban experience across time and cultures, from ancient Greece to postmodern Tokyo. Our faculty are international and published in their fields.

Seminars are held once a week at night.
