The Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics at New York University
is now accepting applications for its third year of EMERGENYC, the
Hemispheric New York Emerging Performers Program. This is the second year of
Activist Performance (“artivism”) series. EMERGENYC aims to support the
development of New York-based artists ages 18 to 28 through a program of
workshops and events between April 3rd and June 18th, 2010 (see “The
Program” section below for details). We seek talented, committed and highly
motivated young activists/artists/performers whose work functions as a
vehicle for political expression and social change, and who examine the

Applications open for AFFORDABLE ART FAIR SINGAPORE 2010

The Affordable Art Fair Singapore will launch its inaugural edition in Suntec Singapore, Level 6 from 22 - 25 April 2010.

The Affordable Art Fair, which already takes place in London, Bristol, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels & New York with sister fairs in Sydney and Melbourne, has a proven track record of success. The fairs have attracted more than 650,000 visitors worldwide and sold in excess of 100 million GBP worth of art since its first event in 1999.

iotaSalon: January 7th, 2010

Start out the new year by coming out to the iotaSalon on January 7th. The theme for this screening is Text and Speech. We will be examining works that explore the confluence of abstraction and language. What choices do artists make when using text in abstraction? How do speech and poetry compliment or complicate visuals?

We are still accepting submissions for the Salon, so if you have any work you would like to screen and discuss, please submit it to us.

Academy of Performing Arts, Prague, Czech Republic, summer theatre school 2010

The Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) is
pleased to announce a three-week summer theatre school in authorial and
alternative theatre forms. Courses are in English and will take place at
DAMU, located in the heart of Pragues historical center. The Prague Summer
Theatre School will take place from June 13th to July 4th, 2010.
Applications will be accepted from January 1st, 2010 to April 30th, 2010.
This year's school is being presented in partnership with the Prague
Quadrennial of Performance, Design and Space (PQ 2011).
