Paperboats and World Community Arts Day

2750254939_922515ba78_m.jpg

One of the most popular ongoing projects that WCAD has been involved
in has been THE PAPERBOATS.

MAKE A PAPERBOAT WITH A MESSAGE OF HOPE IN IT

http://www.communiversity.org.uk/WCADpaperboats2009.htm
Our modern twist on this ancient craft has continued to develop and last year saw an exhibition at The Three Harbours Arts Festival, where a further 2000 paperboats were produced.
We now now have a small touring exhibition of this growing project which is at present at Castleview Primary School, Craigmillar for this years WCAD.

Here are some great examples of PAPERBOATS

W.A.G.E. works to draw attention to economic inequalities that exist in the arts, and to resolve them.

5 of Pentacles, Veryshopped; colored pencil on index card, phoshop't; 2005-2009

Another in a series of the cards I drew for myself on 3x5 index cards and now photosh'ing. My originals were based on the Ryder deck, but as I'm unschooled in art, they were quite crude, which I liked, but wanted to jazz them up. Some originals were better than the new version.
There's something in this one I like...reminds of Chas. Addams..as if it needs an wierd gag caption...
