The Board of Directors of the Friends of Hermon Dog Park requests proposals
from local area artists to design and produce innovative, low maintenance
artwork with a dog/community theme for permanent installation at Hermon Dog
Park; all ideas and all media are encouraged. ("Because it's all about the
dogs.") Issues of safety and maintenance are very important to the Friends
of Hermon Dog Park and the Department of Recreation and Parks.
Proposed Location: In and around the Hermon Dog Park site, and surrounding
hillside, at Hermon Park in the Arroyo Seco, 5568 Via Marisol (Hermon) Los
Angeles, 90042. (Not to include the walls of the Ave. 60 overpass.) The
dog park location is at the end of the park driveway - walk under the Ave.

LACDA announces an open call for our un-juried show featuring digital art and photography: "Snap to Grid." All entries will be printed (8.5"x11" on heavyweight paper) and shown in our gallery arranged in a grid. Entrants submit JPEG files of original work. Multiple entries are permitted. Seperate registration required for each image. Exhibit is limited to space available, early entry is advised.
The Center for Book Arts is pleased to continue the Artist-in-Residence
Workspace Grant for New York Emerging Artists program in 2010. Up to five
New York-based emerging artists will be offered space, time and support to
explore the production of artist's books and related work for a full year.
The purpose of this program is to promote experimentation in book arts, thus
artists from all disciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The
Center especially encourages applications from artists of culturally diverse
backgrounds.
The award includes a $750-$1,500 cash stipend (depending on funding) plus a
materials budget between $750 to $1,000 (depending on funding), 24 hour
access to the Center's printing and binding facilities for a full year, plus
Blah!

The SAM Prize for Contemporary Art is organised by SAM Art Projects.
With its grant of 20, 000 euros, this competition is open to all artists over the age of 25, who have been resident in France for at least 2 years, and who have a signed contract with a gallery.
The aim of the prize is to allow the selected artist to carry out a project which he will conduct in an emerging country in the Southern hemisphere, and exhibit in France in the following year.
Every kind of expression and all the visual arts disciplines are accepted : painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video…
