The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation is pleased to announce the first open call for grants under the Foundation's new Art and Social Justice initiative for organizations serving the five boroughs of New York City. Grant applications for 2016 are now being accepted through November 1, 2015 on the newly launched Foundation website. Applicants will be notified of the Foundation's decision in January 2016.

Animate OPEN: Parts & Labour

The Animate OPEN is for complete works by UK and international artists, animators and filmmakers, produced since January 2014. We will select up to 20 works for gallery exhibition at QUAD in Derby (from 28 November 2015 – 24 January 2016) and for a UK cinema touring programme.
A jury will award an Animate OPEN Prize of £1,500. There will be a £750 Audience Prize.
Artists included in the gallery exhibition will receive a £150 fee.
Submission deadline is 3 September 2015. Submission fee is £10.

I am sending you an information about the Open Competition called “Imagining New Eurasia.” We are inviting anyone who lives in, or from, Eurasia [from Portugal to Behring Straight] to give us a work and idea about what the future of Eurasia could be. This competition will be an important part of a project that I am organizing at the new Asian Cultural Center in Gwangju, South Korea. Selected works from this Open Competition will be exhibited there from November 25th, 2015.
