The Whitney Museum seeks a curator with an extraordinary record of exhibitions and publications. The position requires strong expertise in 20th and 21st century American art, with a specialty in prewar art and/or works on paper preferred but not required. The position reports directly to the Nancy and Steve Crown Family Chief Curator and supervises junior staff.

Responsibilities:
–Propose and organize loan exhibitions as well as special exhibitions culled from the collection, including the writing and preparation of related scholarly catalogues, brochures, and didactic texts; development of educational programs; and fundraising

Contemporary Art Gallery Online announces their 3rd Annual International “ALL Animals” Online Art Competition for the month of July 2016. Contemporary Art Gallery Online encourages entries from all 2D and 3D artists regardless of their experience or education in the art field. A group exhibition of all entrants will be held online at Contemporary Art Gallery Online during the month of August 2016. Awards will be given for the top 5 chosen winners in the Paintings, Photography/Digital Art and Mixed Media/3D Categories. In addition to the winning images, depending on the amount and the quality of the entries received, Honorable Recognition awards will also be presented. This competition closes July 31, 2016. Winners will be announced on August 15, 2016.

LoosenArt Online Art Gallery is looking for a teacher in theory and history of contemporary photography to start an advanced level online course. The course, to be held in English, will be conducted on a live webinar through an online platform which will provide useful tools for content sharing to facilitate the participation and interaction between teacher and students.

The course will begin with the attainment of a minimum number of 15 students, and the first quarter will begin in autumn 2016.

The applicant will have to present, attached to the CV, the plan of the course scheduling that will be developed in 36 hours (about 8 lessons monthly - 90 minutes each ).

The San Pedro ♥ Festival of the Arts is a free family event featuring dance, music & Visual Arts/Crafts Booths in the Ports O'Call Village on the waterfront. This will be its10th year. The festival was again awarded a Department of Cultural Affairs, City of LA, Festival Grant, and for the first time a 2016-17 Community Investment Grant. Several summer/ fall free previews lead to the main event on Sept 17-18, 2016.

The sponsorship is meant for
- grants for a temporary residence at renowned institutions for dance and choreography abroad
- a non-paid participation in an ensemble or a placement with a choreographer at home or abroad
