Program Eligibility

All applicants must be United States citizens or legal Permanent Residents of the United States, 18 years or older, may not be enrolled in any degree program, and must be able to demonstrate need for a studio. Applicants may not be a resident artist in another studio program at the same time as the 2018-19 Smack Mellon residency.

The 7th Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale will be held from July 29 to September 17, 2018. As a part of this, The Hojoki Shiki in 2018―Spatial designs of 10 square feet and their development exhibition will be launched in the Triennale's main facility, the Echigo-Tsumari Satoyama Museum of Contemporary Art, KINARE.
