Visual AIDS is looking to welcome a part-time Programs Associate (up to 24 hours/week) who is dedicated to advocating for people living with HIV and experienced with coordinating public programs, engaging contemporary art, and managing outreach and marketing.
Responsibilities:
● Assists with the management of our annual projects: LOVE POSITIVE WOMEN, the International Curatorial Residency, our annual summer exhibition, and Day With(out) Art. Contributes to the development of new and ongoing programs that work towards the organization’s mission and values. Coordinates documentation of all public programs and manages community outreach and marketing.

Dear Friends,
Is social activism or socially engaged art about producing tangible objects? In many cases, no. But more often than not, it does leave a visual trace.
So does it need collectors at all? I would say no, but that's pure utopia in a country which doesn't have state support for culture in place. If your answer is no, move to Europe.
Here, we do need collectors, and those who could support your community projects are usually art collectors at the same time.
So if you want to and can invest in showing your projects to them as part of your fundraising effort, or if you want to sell your work or, say, an edition that supports a community project or ecological design, this festival is for you.
