KIDVID is a collaborative program presented by Inside Out Community Arts and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation. KidVid is a video and filmmaking course that connects industry professionals and media artists with inner-city high school students. KidVid is an evolving program, with many basics in place and numerous opportunities for development and growth on the immediate horizon.

The time frame for applications is short - due August 3 - but the
opportunity for a funded residency and technical support to produce a
new work to be shown at the 2010 01SJ Biennial, the 2011 Sundance
Festival, and the 2011 Banff Summer Arts Festvial is enormous.

At the occasion of the Update III exhibition that is organised as a Biennial event at the Zebrastraat Gent, the Liedts-Meesen Foundation will award for the second time, a work by a living artist distinguishing himself or herself in the field of digital art. This award will consist of a cash purse and a showcase in the Update IV to be held in 2012.

Sacred Memories: Cross-Cultural Celebrations
of Day of the Dead
From October 19 to November 27, 2009, El Pueblo Historical Monument will present Sacred Memories: Cross-Cultural Celebrations of Day of the Dead. Sacred Memories follows El Pueblo's acclaimed 2007 exhibition which explored celebrations that venerate the departed including Dia de los Muertos, first observed by the indigenous people of Latin America, China's Qingming, and other rituals practiced in United States, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. Artists are asked to submit for consideration two and three-dimensional work (including ofrendas/altars) that examines rituals honoring the deceased and/or pays tribute to departed ancestors.
