AMP Member of the Week Maddy Rosenberg was born in Brooklyn and now divides her time between New York City and Europe, where she maintains an active international exhibition and freelance curatorial career. She is an artist who works in several media: oil painting, drawing, printmaking, artists' books, and installation. She has personally initiated, organized, curated, and participated in a number of international exchange exhibitions and projects between New York and European artists.
Maddy's work is in such public collections as MoMA, The Brooklyn Museum, The Museum of New Art, The Tate Gallery, and The Victoria and Albert Museum. Articles and reviews have appeared in Printmaking Today, Art Review, NY Arts: International Edition, Salzburger Nachrichten, and New York Magazine, as well as an interview on BBC Radio Bristol. A profile appears in Who’s Who in America, 2000 Artists and Designers of the Twentieth Century, and the Dictionary of International Biography. Maddy is on the exhibitions committee of the Center for Book Arts in New York, and she's served on grant panels as well. She received her BFA from Cornell University and her MFA from Bard College.
As she spends several months every year in Europe, Maddy is always looking for apartment/studio exchanges, residencies, and sublets for her place in New York City. She's also on the look-out for artists' work, as she curates, and exhibition opportunities for her own work, as well as lecturing and visiting artist possiblities.
