Marketing & Communications Coordinator
The Music Center one of the nation's premier performing arts
institutions located in Downtown Los Angeles, is seeking a media-savvy,
creative, professional with strong interpersonal skills to join the
Marketing and Communications team to serve in the role of: Marketing &
Communications Coordinator.
Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Communications the qualified
candidate will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of
subscriptions and single ticket campaigns, advertising, promotions, web
management, online communications and social media for The Music
Center's programming.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Research, develop and execute creative promotional campaigns that
include guerilla/grassroots outreach, diversity/niche marketing, and
industry tandard promotions
Maintain and track marketing budgets, media plans, marketing calendars
and efficacy of promotions
Implement media plans to include media trafficking, reservations and
copy writing
Cultivate, develop and implement media/marketing partnerships and trade
opportunities to broaden promotional reach and media dollars
Coordinate full cycle collateral generation to include copy writing,
design input, editing and routing for approvals
Write, proof, edit press releases as needed
Manage and maintain programming web pages to include the coordination of
all information input, event updates, page builds and the overall
functionality of the website.
Manage the coordination and schedule of e-communications; responsible
for building and coordinating email blasts/newsletters
Grow following base on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram as well
as other relevant social media sites; create program-specific campaigns
to generate ticket sales and raise awareness and attendance of Music
Center events
Attend Music Center events regularly to gather and post compelling
content for social media outlets.
Track and analyze website and e-marketing data
Be part of a creative team in developing ideas, marketing strategies and
communications to support all brand efforts
Serve as representative of Marketing & Communications at select Music
Center events
Required qualifications and desired skills include:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably in Marketing,
Advertising, or Business Administration)
A Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional environment
Working knowledge of evolving social medial tools, platforms,
techniques, online space and online trends
Energetic team-oriented individual with strong analytical, interpersonal
and creative skills
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, including the
ability to present information in a variety of formats
Strong project management skills with ability to multitask with
attention to detail and accountability to deadlines
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently; must be able to
successfully interact with a wide variety of people on-and off-site
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator a plus
Knowledge of Tessitura a plus
Knowledge of Cision or other PR/Media Relations Software a plus
Knowledge of CMS and HTML a plus
Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends
Salary range:. $40,000 – $45,000 a year, commensurate with
experience. This is a non-exempt hourly position. Compensation package
includes health (employee company paid medical/HMO, dental and vision
coverage) and welfare benefits, vacation and sick days, 401(k) plan with
employer contribution, plus more.
