Development Assistant.
Grand Performances, L.A.’s premier free outdoor summer performing arts
presenter, is known for providing Angelenos with an eclectic mix of high
quality performing arts by world-renowned artists across genres. With
programming reflective of the many cultural interests of people across
the region, Grand Performances hosts America's most diverse audience at
its beautiful outdoor venue located on Bunker Hill in downtown Los

The Development Assistant reports to the Director of Development and is
a vital part of this two person development team. The primary role of
this position is to assist in the design and implementation of
comprehensive fund-raising activities in support of Grand Performances.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator (verbal and
written), detail-oriented and a highly motivated team player. We seek
someone who has strong data management skills, a desire for a career in
development, and passion for live performance.
Year-round responsibilities include maintaining donor and prospect
database records, processing donations and timely written
acknowledgements, administrative support for annual fundraising
campaigns, donor stewardship and communications, grant writing and
reporting, preparation and maintenance of Grand Performances Board
meeting minutes and materials, assisting with coordination of special
events and annual fundraiser, and additional development duties as
assigned and self-identified projects as approved.
During the summer season of free performances, the Development Assistant
will be present at events to manage donor reserved seating area, provide
onsite customer service to donors/VIPs, coordinate donor receptions, and
provide assistance to the general public.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
Professional verbal and written communication skills required.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work
effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to organize,
plan, and carry out activities to meet specific timelines and goals.
Computer literacy, Internet research skills, and experience with MS
Office and Windows required. In Design experience a plus.
Knowledge of Patron Manager/Sales Force database a plus.
Available on evenings and weekends for season and special events.
Position is full-time non-exempt and begins as soon as possible.
Salary range $13 - $16 per hour.
