Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its May 2012 art exhibition is now posted on their website and is ready to view online. The theme for this art exhibition is “Nature” and artists were asked to interpret the theme “Nature" by depicting the physical world. “Nature” was considered to be anything that was not created by or has been substantially altered by man.
An art competition was held in April 2012 which determined and judged the art for this exhibition. The gallery received submissions from 15 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 35 different states. Overall, there were 821 entries from 229 different artists that were judged for this art competition.

Lower East Side Printshop is pleased to announce the EDITIONS ‘12: EXHIBITION OPENING AND CATALOGUE LAUNCH on Thursday, May 10. The exhibition will be on view at the Printshop from May 10 – July 8, 2012. With a catalogue essay by Roberta Waddell, a renowned print expert and former Curator of Prints at the New York Public Library, the catalogue and exhibition feature new works created by recipients of the Printshop’s Special Editions and Publishing Residencies: Hong Seon Jang, Jennie C. Jones, Darina Karpov, and David Kramer, and Enoc Perez.

The Printshop's classes for adults offer instruction in myriad printmaking techniques, traditional, as well as new and experimental. Our faculty is comprised of accomplished artists and experienced master printers with outstanding expertise in printmaking. They offer technical expertise, as well as creative advice for your new artwork. Our instructors will help you turn your ideas into quality prints. Our classes are appropriate for beginners who wish to discover the world of printmaking, as well as artists interested in exploring new techniques. Many of our courses can be repeated, as there is a great deal of one-on-one interaction with faculty.

The theme for this art exhibition is “CityScapes” and artists where asked to interpret and depict cities, towns, urban scenes and any related metropolitan subjects for the art competition theme.
An art competition was held in March 2012 which determined and judged the art for this exhibition. The gallery received submissions from 17 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 29 different states. Overall, there were 581 entries from 165 different artists that were judged for this art competition.
The last album released in these days is El mundo de Hojyo Takashi (Hojyo Takashi´s world) dedicated to origami and one of the creators more known.
Eight tracks travel to japanese culture and music inspired in eight works from Takashi.

Lower East Side Printshop is pleased to present Divergence with a reception for artists on Wednesday, April 25 from 6-8pm. The exhibition will be on view at the Printshop from March 12 – May 9, 2012 and features new works created by 14 artists in residence.
This exhibit will highlight artwork of all genres made by artists who live and work in the great Golden State. The Gallery is proud to continue this popular juried exhibition for its community and revealing new art movements around the state. Guest Juror, Rebecca Morse, Associate Curator at MOCA Los Angeles, selected 80 works of art from about 600 statewide entries, making this a must see!

The specific materials in the Kit will be unknown to you at the time of purchase, but you can expect to find some common sculpting materials like wood, metal, clay, and fiber. The gallery invites all 2D artists (including photography) regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field to send us your best interpretation of the theme “CityScapes” by depicting cities, towns, urban scenes and any related metropolitan subjects for inclusion into the gallery’s April 2012 online group art exhibition.
