Young photographers and photojournalists worldwide are invited to participate in an annual photo competition under the theme "Acting in Solidarity and Building Movements for Change." Deadline to submit entries: April 1.
According to Friends of the Earth International, this competition intends to gather photos from around the world of people working in solidarity in order to bring about change, as well as photos of social movements in action.
First place winners will receive cash prizes of EUÇáŽĺá400 (US$547), second place EUÇáŽĺá200 (US$270) and third place EUÇáŽĺá100 (US$137). In addition, the best shots will be featured in materials produced by organizations and social movements, including a 2011 calendar and an international photo exhibition.
Ibermedia, a Spain-based film fund, announced the dates for the 2010 competition for audiovisual projects. The deadline for the first call is February 25, and for the second call is June 14.
The program offers economic aid in the following areas:
Support of educational programs for Iberoamerican audiovisual professionals
Support of coproduction of Iberoamerican films, including documentaries
Support of development of cinema and television projects
Support of international sale contents and delivery

by philosophers since the time of the Greeks. Courted or scorned,
distrusted, devalued, deconstructed, beauty promises pleasure while
provoking awe, admiration and even fear. Beauty quickens the pulse.
Attention Contemporary Artists! OCCCA is now accepting submissions of
artworks representing ideas of the beautiful. Painting, drawing, sculpture,
photography, video, installation, and computer-based New Media projects
We are currently looking for artists of all mediums. This art show takes place @ Miramar Gallery on March 13th from 6pm-11pm. There will be a small hanging fee of $10 for pieces 16x20 and smaller.
