The Famous Bamboo Organ of Las Piñas, Philippines

The Famous Bamboo Organ of Las Piñas, Philippines

This is a picture of the world famous Bamboo Organ of Las Piñas, Philippines (taken from Wikipedia). It is a cultural and national treasure, as well as a tour-de-force of art and science! This pipe organ, completed in 1824 by a Spanish priest, Father Diego Cera, is made almost entirely out of bamboo pipes and other wood indigenous to that region of the Philippines.

As an organist, it's my dream to play this instrument some day. Judging from recordings I have, this organ has a sweet, yet robust, unique sound. I thought it would be nice to share this with the greater artistic community.
