2009 brought success and critical accolades for "Age of Anxiety", VOLTA NY's solo-project fair, and VOLTA5's move of to a stunning new location in Basel. Both editions attracted collectors, visitors and critics from all around the globe.
VOLTA NY, as much exhibition as art fair, features solo presentations by artists invited by co-curators Amanda Coulson and Christian Viveros-Fauné. VOLTA NY 2010 will again complement its sister fair The Armory Show with a lineup of exciting young and mid-career artists represented by 70 international cutting edge galleries.

MARCO/FRAC Lorraine Award for Young Curators

Organized by the MARCO, Museo de Arte Contemporánea de Vigo, Spain and FRAC Lorraine, Metz (Fonds regional d'art contemporain de Lorraine), France, the purpose of the MARCO/FRAC Lorraine Award for Young Curators is to offer participants the chance to execute an exhibition project to occupy MARCO's first floor and the exhibition venues at FRAC Lorraine. Entries will focus on the field of contemporary artistic creation and contemplate the participation of two or more artists.

2010 Culver City Performing Arts Grants

The 2010 Notice of Funding Availability has been released for the Culver City Performing Arts Grants Program. The application is available via the City's website at www.culvercity.org.
The deadline for submission is September 8, 2009. Performances may be presented by professionals or amateurs in the disciplines of theatre, musical theatre, music, opera, or dance. A workshop to assist organizations with the completion of the application will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in the Lethbridge Garden Room at Veterans Memorial Building located at 4117 Overland Avenue in Culver City. The workshop will begin at 7 PM.
AMERICAN MASTERPIECES: CHAMBER MUSIC
Deadline: October 8, 2009. Grants of up to $75,000 will be awarded to nonprofits, government agencies, and tribal communities working to provide the American public with performances of chamber music, traditional and indigenous music, and jazz. Projects must be accompanied by related educational, interpretive, or contextual components. These may include discussions, master classes, seminars, exhibitions, program material, or cooperative learning projects with educational or community institutions. Curriculum-based educational components for children and youth must ensure the application of national or state arts education standards.
GRANT FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR ARTS IN HEALTHCARE PROGRAMS
DENALI NATIONAL PARK ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Deadline: October 31, 2009. Applications for the 2010 Denali National Park Artist-in-Residence Program are now being accepted. The Artist-in-Residence Program at Denali National Park began in 2001, and offers artists the opportunity to pursue their work amidst the natural splendors of Denali Park in Alaska. The park currently provides the use of the historic East Fork Cabin for 10-day periods from June through August.
