Intersection Dance Project is seeking collaborators for a Summer 2009 project. We are searching for musicians, visual artists, scientists, philosophers, actors , writers…ANYONE who is interested in seeing their professional endeavors or interests realized through movement. Intersection Dance is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit dance company that seeks to bring artists of all disciplines together in collaboration for community education. An International Documentary Film Festival, known as DOCSDF and scheduled for October 15 to 24 in Mexico City, is inviting filmmakers, producers and directors to submit their best works by May 15.
This year's festival has nine categories: best international documentary; best Iberoamerican documentary; best Mexican documentary; best TV documentary; best international short documentary; best Mexican short documentary; best photography; best Mexican documentary on education; and best documentary on the environment.

Luiz Badaró are seeking two male dancers and 1 female dancer for the
upcoming ’09 – ’10 Season. Rehearsals begin on May 14, 2009 with
performances in July through December. Performances include the Ford
Amphitheater, Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena, Redlands Bowl, Redlands,
CA and Guadalajara, Mexico. Potential performers must be available
on Monday and Thursday evenings, Saturday and Sunday
afternoons.Dancers should have a strong modern dance technique with
Volume 6, Issue 6 of Poetry Victims is now online, featuring art by Ed Baker and Poetry by Dorien Grey.

From October 19 to November 27, 2009, El Pueblo Historical Monument
will present Sacred Memories: Cross-Cultural Celebrations of Day of the
Dead. Sacred Memories follows El Pueblo $B!G (Bs acclaimed 2007 exhibition
which explored celebrations that venerate the departed including Dia de
los Muertos, first observed by the indigenous people of Latin America,
China $B!G (Bs Qingming, and other rituals practiced in United States,
Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. Artists are asked to submit for
consideration two and three-dimensional work (including ofrendas/altars)
that examines rituals honoring the deceased and/or pays tribute to
departed ancestors.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:
The J.U.i.C.E. Hip Hop Dance Festival is an annual showcase of cutting-edge street dance choreography and hip hop culture produced by J.U.i.C.E. (Justice By Uniting In Creative Energy) at the outdoor, 1241-seat Ford Amphitheatre. It will take place on Sat. Oct. 3rd, 2009.
JHHDF unites the rhythmic virtuosity and extreme physicality of street dance to “expand [hip hop’s] creative horizons†(Lewis Segal, L.A. Times).†Artistic Directors Amy “Catfox†Campion and Jacob “Kujo†Lyons bring LA’s freshest street dance choreographers to the stage to celebrate and to reinvent hip hop culture.
