Grants, residencies, job available, Harpo Foundation

from Franklin Furnace

Warm greetings from the Harpo Foundation!

http://www.harpofoundation.org/

I write today with an abundance of news after many months of planning that the board and I have embarked on since the death of our foundation’s founding artist and benefactor, Ed Levine, in January 2020.
We are in a process of shifting from a simple grantmaking foundation to one that also operates an artist residency program, and stewards Ed Levine’s studio, archive, and installed site-specific sculptures on a 10-acre property in the Vermont woods.
Ed Levine described the foundation “not as a philanthropic endeavor but as a way to return gifts of assistance provided to me.”

Call for performance artists, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich, Austria, deadline April 20

from Franklin Furnace

Dear friends of Kunstraum Niederoesterreich!

It's that time again! As of today, the call for submissions for the H13 Niederoesterreich Prize for Performance, which will be awarded for the 15th time this year, is open.

Unbelievable but true: The H13 is still the only award for performance art in Austria. The prize money was increased to € 5.000,- last year.

Performance, as an artistic medium, no matter how multifaceted it is in terms of staging and content, has a strong tradition in Austrian art and has received vivid art historical attention in recent years. With the H13 award, an emphasis is put on the performative works of the younger generation.
