Professional and amateur Arab filmmakers are invited to participate in a Al-Mutawasit Film Festival for Short Films. Deadline to apply: January 31, 2010.
The festival aims to discover and shed light on Arab talent. Participants can submit short films that were shot on equipment ranging from a professional to a cell phone camera.

A Kenyan film festival is seeking fictional, animated, drama, documentaries, experimental films and creatively packaged video games and music videos that provide strong role models to children and youth. The deadline is April 15, 2010.
The festival, called Lola Kenya Screen, showcases and awards films but also aims to place the audiovisual media tools in the hands of children and youth through trainings and workshops. The annual event will take place in August 2010.

Filmmakers from around the world are invited to submit works to a film festival in Australia. The early bird deadline is January 29, 2010 and late entry is on March 12, 2010.
Films should be have been produced in 2009 and should have English subtitles if in another language.
The Melbourne International Film Festival is divided into two categories: short and feature films. Short films should be no longer than 30 minutes. Films longer than 30 minutes will be considered feature films. The film festival will be held July 23 to August 8, 2010 in Melbourne.
Entry fees varyfrom US$50 to $64.

INVITATION TO AN INTERNATIONAL PRE-QUALIFYING COMPETITION FOR THE STAVANGER REGION'S NEW CONCERT HALL.
Solo artists and collaborating groups are hereby invited to take part in an international pre-qualifying round for a lighting project in the New Concert Hall in Stavanger, to be completed in 2012.
Stavanger New Concert Hall will be of a high international standard, and be centrally situated, close to other cultural institutions and two new music schools in the Bjergsted Park area of the city.
Infrequency Editions is currently accepting submissions of new audio works
dealing with the outer fringes and extremes of research into field recording,
sound phenomenon, and acoustic ecology. We are specifically interested in work
which stretches the boundaries of these and similar themes.
Work for consideration should be made available for download as high quality MP3
(do not email attached files) and be accompanied by an artist CV and written

MONTEHERMOSO 2010 Art and Research Grants
The Centro Cultural Montehermoso Kulturunea, in accordance with its desire to support creation and research in contemporary art and thought, announces a call for entries for a series of grants. The objective of this initiative, which is promoted by the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, is to facilitate the production of thirteen selected projects in the following categories: Art Project Production, Curatorship, Research and Film Scripts. Authors of any nationality, regardless of age, can present their projects individually or collectively.
ART PROJECT PRODUCTION
2010 Artist in Residence Program: The Byrdcliffe Arts Colony / The
Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, located in the Catskill Mountains, Woodstock, NY
USA. Founded as an Arts & Crafts community in 1903, it has been a haven for
visual artists, potters, writers, crafts people, musicians and theatre
artists for almost a century. The Residency Program offers writers, visual
artists and composers one-month residencies from June-September. The cost
per 4 week session is $300. (Playwrights US citizens only may apply for the
Handel Fellowship.) (Writers under the age of 35, who need financial
assistance, may apply for a $100 scholarship from The Patterson Fund.)

Kharkiv Municipal Art Gallery opens the competition for the V Festival of
Youth Projects NON STOP MEDIA.
Dates of the Festival first weeks of April 2010.
We announce an open preliminary competition the winners of which will be
pronounced by the competent jury, and will have the right to display their
works during Festival’s competition program. 25 projects will be selected
and will make up the base of the program.
The main goal of the Festival is to provoke and motivate young authors to
project-based art creation. Therefore, the project-oriented thinking,
professionalism in implementing project idea, innovation, taboo overcoming
