RELIEF PRINTMAKING
with Justin Sanz
4 weeks, Thursdays, 6-9pm

This course will introduce you to various methods of creating woodcut and linocut prints. This direct and versatile process is one of the oldest methods of printing. Learn how to prepare wood and linoleum blocks, carve images by hand, apply ink with rollers, and print by hand and on the press using oil based inks. Also covered will be methods for creating images with multiple blocks and colors, reduction printing, and alternative techniques.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce that its August 2013 art exhibition is now posted on their website and is ready to view online. The theme for this art exhibition is “Botanicals” and artists were asked to apply to this competition in July by submitting their best botanical and floral art.

An art competition was held in July 2013 which determined and judged the art for this exhibition. The gallery received submissions from 26 different countries from around the world and they also received entries from 41 different states. Overall, there were 704 entries that were judged for this art competition.

Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC), a non-profit arts organization, has two opportunities for artists and community members in the South Bay/Harbor area.

This year at AGCC we are interested in the stories that are told within and around our community. Our Main Gallery space is dedicated to showcasing these stories. We are seeking artwork that contains strong narratives, ranging from issues of culture and identity to diversity and adversity. Max10 Performance Laboratory - Fall/Winter 2013
Shows the first Monday of each month, 10 months a year.

Max10 Performance Laboratory now open for the second half of 2013

Once again, the Electric Lodge opens its stage to performers wishing to
experiment and hone new works in front of a live audience. All genres of
performance welcome. Slots are assigned on a first-come, first-served
basis. Performers have 10 minutes on stage with basic technical support to
experiment and develop artistic work in front of a live audience. Whether
you are at the very beginnings of the process, working on fragments of a
larger work, or polishing work that is fully formed, we encourage you to
use this opportunity to experiment, take risks, and grow as an artist.

the Valley Arts Alliance.

PROSPECTUS & GUIDELINESArtwork must be made of materials that are used,
discarded, or found as trash; things that were not necessarily meant to
be artist materials, were meant to be disposed of – objects and
materials that could have and would have been trash, but have been
redeemed and transformed by the artist's vision and hand.
Open to all Southern California artists who can drop off and pick up
selected work in person. We cannot receive, nor return shipped work.
