As of January 1, 2018, the General Assembly of steirischer herbst festival gmbh is hiring a Festival Director for the duration of five years.
The Festival Director is solely responsible for drawing up the programme of the annual multidisciplinary festival of contemporary art, and management of steirischer herbst festival gmbh on his or her own responsibility with the due care of a prudent businessperson.

Barbed is pleased to present a call for submissions for our fifth issue, entitled "Surrender."
In this issue, we will study the subject of surrender and the diverse ways people interpret, solve, and deal with it.
We live in a world in which surrender has multiple meanings, many of them oppressive and even violent. At various times I might surrender my rights, privileges, values, desires. You might also surrender your space, your kitchen, your food, your house, etc.

The residency is a collaboration between Borås Museum of Modern Art, Kultur i Väst, Region Västra Götaland and Iaspis, the Swedish Art Grants Committee’s international programme for visual- and applied artists. Our ambition is to facilitate the work of an international visual artist with a moving images production. The residency administration aim to create a production network that spans over the region’s art scene as well as the region’s film production facilities.

The goal of this pop-up exhibition is to expand knowledge of NYC's hidden culture and celebrate those who explore it. A wide range of artists and mediums will be represented. Unique presentation of the work within the walls of the historic courthouse-turned-library is something special onto itself, but live art-making and music will also fill the halls. The event kicks off with a VIP night preview on May 6th, but the main event is free and open to the public one week later on the night of May 13th. Lead juror / curator: Rich Garr

apexart announces its 10th annual Franchise Exhibition Program open call: an opportunity to propose and produce an exhibition that takes place anywhere in the world except New York City. No prior curatorial experience is necessary and anyone can apply.
The submission process
Proposals should describe focused, idea-driven, and original group exhibitions, cannot exceed 500 words, and must be written in English. No biographical information, CVs, links, or images will be accepted. Projects are judged by the strength of their ideas and the organizer's ability to communicate them, not by connections or past accomplishments.

PHOTOFAIRS attracts key collectors and curators to their inaugural US edition in San Francisco, and highlights April 6 deadline for its fourth Shanghai edition.
KEYHOLDER RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Lower East Side Printshop, NY, offers emerging artists FREE year-long studio residencies to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. The application deadline is March 1, 2017 for residencies that begin on April 1, 2017. Printmaking facilities are available for intaglio, relief, monoprint, waterbased silkscreen, digital processes, and other techniques that employ the tools at hand.
Keyholders work independently in the Printshop’s shared Artists’ Studio and have access to a vibrant community of peers. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; printmaking skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended. Basic instruction in printmaking and some Master Printer assistance is included in the program.
