This is a call for fixed media electroacoustic audio-visual music works exploring the interaction between sound and image. Works should be cohesive audio-visual entities and not just video/film with a soundtrack or music with a video/film track. The audio within these works should be electroacoustic in nature.

Venice, CA Call to Artists - patio exhibit, reception (deadline February 14)

Call to Artists:

Ten Women Gallery, Venice, a non-profit gallery located in the heart of the uber-chic
Venice "boho" gallery-and-shops matrix, is hosting a reception for their March show
titled: LOST AND FOUND: ASSEMBLAGE ART
In addition to our main gallery space, we have a lovely patio in back with seating area and
wall space. We are inviting local established and emerging artists to submit work for
consideration to exhibit in this space on

Theme: The patio work does not have to be assemblage format. We will consider all forms

New Orleans SLEEP CONCERT: call for sound submissions

Call for Submissions:

Sommeil: A Concert for Sleep

In early April I will be reinterpreting the sleep concert experiment,
first created by Robert Rich ( http://robertrich.com/ ) in 1982, at a
well established gallery in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am doing so
with Rich's permission and guidance. Sleep concerts as presented by
Rich are all night events in which the audience is asked to attend the
concert with a sleeping bag and pillow and to fall asleep while a
slowly unfolding sonic texture evolves over the course of the night
and into the morning. This concert will begin at 10 pm and end at 7
am with tea and breakfast.

Not merely a recreation of Rich's original idea, Sommeil will be a
global reinterpretation of a performance type that addresses one of

World Community Arts Day 17 02 09

From Australia to Africa, Asia to America, Africa to Europe there are many projects planned for the day, indeed the week. From Bees in Louth to Arcobats in Kenya, from Radio broadcasts on Lieth FM to a Global Drumming for Peace ring, from a live broadcast of "All you need is love" to a prayer in Kenya, From A World Community Arts Week in Newport to a grand concert in Belfast, the growing list goes on and on.
From the social networks of Myspace, Youtube and Facebook come projects as Happy Postcards, Green Circle and How to make a paperboat.
