the 2009 California Open Exhibition, August 19 - September 4, 2009.

CA Open Catalogue.

Investing in Artists Grant Guidelines Now Available!
The Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI) is pleased to announce that the Guidelines and Application Form for Round IV of the Investing in Artists grants program are now available for download at www.cciarts.org/funding.
The Investing in Artists grants program was established in 2007 to enhance the working lives and strengthen the creative support system for California artists working in all disciplines. Following an initial three rounds of funding made to 54 artists in 2007 and 2008, CCI is pleased to continue the grants program from 2009-2011, supported by The James Irvine Foundation and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

Venice, CA (May 22, 2009) — The Abbot Kinney Festival Association (AKFA) is now accepting online applications from exhibitors interested in selling or promoting their products and services at the 2009 Abbot Kinney Festival. Now in its 25th year, this popular community event will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2009, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. At least 300 booth spaces are available, which will be mostly allocated to arts and crafts exhibitors through a juried process.

On June 1, 2009, artists of all types, working in any medium, at any stage in their career and from any geographic area are invited to apply for one of the 54 live/work units at the new Working Artists Ventura (WAV), located in the cultural district of downtown Ventura, California at the corner of Ventura Avenue and Thompson Boulevard. Applications are due JUNE 15th, 2009.
PLACE, a nonprofit developer working with the City of Ventura to create this unique mixed-use, mixed-income community, has contracted with The John Stewart Company to manage the application and selection process.
