RESPONSIBILITIES: The Filmmaker-in-Residence (FIR) for Production/Post
Production Emphasis is a one-semester position teaching secondary students
in the Motion Picture Arts Division. Teaching responsibilities include one
section of Production Workshop and one Post-Production Elective beyond the
scope of our production electives already offered: Lighting and

LPV was created in 1996 by Allied Productions and other neighborhood members
as a GreenThumb public garden located at 346 East Houston St. @ Avenue C in
the East Village. It is volunteer based and is dedicated to preserving the
vitality of NYC greenspace through the arts, broadening & enriching the
general public with performances, screenings, workshops and similar
activities that reflect our urban environment.
We present 6 months of public events May- November with music & film
series, visual art exhibitions and workshops. We are looking for unusual
ideas that address the environment, social and progressive issues and the
2010 Artist in Residence Program: The Byrdcliffe Arts Colony / The
Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, located in the Catskill Mountains, Woodstock, NY
USA. Founded as an Arts & Crafts community in 1903, it has been a haven for
visual artists, potters, writers, crafts people, musicians and theatre
artists for almost a century. The Residency Program offers writers, visual
artists and composers one-month residencies from June-September. The cost
per 4 week session is $300. (Playwrights US citizens only may apply for the
Handel Fellowship.) (Writers under the age of 35, who need financial
assistance, may apply for a $100 scholarship from The Patterson Fund.)

Documentary filmmakers worldwide are invited to participate in the fourth Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival, which will be held in April 2010 in Doha, Qatar. Deadline to submit works: January 1, 2010.
The competition is open to all TV channels (Arab & non-Arab), production companies, independent filmmakers and cultural, social and media organizations.
Submitted films must have been produced within the previous two years. A participant may only have one entry in each category (short, medium or long). Participating films should either be in Arabic or English. Films in another language should be translated, dubbed, or subtitled into either language.

Call for Audio-Visual work
NOVARS Research Centre for Electroacoustic Composition, Performance and
Sound Art, University of Manchester, UK

MANTIS (Manchester Theatre in Sound) is seeking audio-visual work for MANTIS
SCREENING, a viewing/listening space as part of the larger MANTIS Festival
at the University of Manchester's Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall [February 20 -
21 2010].
We are calling for fixed media audio-visual work, with a maximum duration of
15 minutes.
Audio of the work may be stereo or 5.1-channels.
Only one work per composer will be considered. Work must have been composed
after 2004.
