3ofWands, pencil,coloredpencil, 'shopped; 2007-2008

3ofWands, pencil,coloredpencil, 'shopped; 2007-2008

I have no art training, but I wanted a Tarot deck so I drew my own --pencil, colored pencils on index cards, scanned and photoshop smartblurred. I like some of these, others make me say 'yuck' or something similar. But what's gratifying to me despite their crudity is that I persevered and drew the whole deck, the originals of which I use, which took several weeks. Then last year I began re-'Shopping them, so some look far from the originals now. For these wands I used the 'cutout' filter.

exposure and BIG canvases… A bit more info; for five years the
nonprofit Eco-LA gallery has been providing canvases made of recycled
billboard vinyl and offering them free to artists in exchange for
display on the exterior of the gallery. To date original works
painted on the material have resulted in over 50k in sales.

On Earth Day 2007, besides interior pieces for its "Off The Wall/3"
show Eco-LA was able to secure display time from CBS Outdoor and Van
Wagner Outdoor. Five original 14 x 48 foot works painted on recycled
