George T.M. Shackelford, Juror
Shackelford is the Senior Deputy Director of the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Most recently he co-curated the exhibitionDegas and the Nude with Xavier Rey, Curator of Paintings at the Musée d'Orsay, while serving as Chair of Art of Europe at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The Skirball Cultural Center seeks an accomplished communications
professional with superior editorial and project management skills, as well
as experience in media relations, to serve as Communications Manager. The
Communications Manager creates a variety of communications materials on a
tight schedule as part of a small, efficient, and close-knit team. The
position reports to the Vice President of Communications and Marketing.
*Responsibilities:*
- Understand and communicate institutional mission, values, and content
to both general and target markets to drive attendance, stimulate revenue,
and diversify audiences and customer/client base. Ensure that messages are
clear, compelling, consistent, and effective.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING COORDINATOR
The Skirball Cultural Center seeks an enthusiastic and highly competent
team player to serve as Communications and Marketing Coordinator. The
position is responsible for coordinating details of key communications and
marketing initiatives, with an emphasis on e-mail campaigns, web content
updates, community outreach, and publicity support. The Communications and
Marketing Coordinator reports to the Marketing Director.
*Responsibilities:*
- Plan and execute wide variety of e-mail marketing communications.
Assist in analyzing e-mail campaign effectiveness. Maintain e-lists.
- Assist in planning and executing grassroots outreach to family
audiences; consular, community, and cultural organizations; online
DCA has just confirmed a new Cultural Exchange International (CEI) partnership with The Bali Purnati Center for the Arts in Bali, Indonesia. The Center is collaborating with DCA to support up to two (2) one-month residencies in FY 2013-2014 for Los Angeles-based creative professionals as their host in Bali. program director, a new position
that will be a key member of our management team.
The program director will be a cultural tastemaker, familiar with LA’s east
side neighborhoods (Silver
Lake, Echo Park, Downtown, etc), who is eager to infuse both the SIJCC
community and the broader
area with a fresh spin on creative programming. The program director will
play a central role in

A central part of The Institute for Art and Olfaction's programming mission lies in creating opportunity for innovative ideas and executions around olfaction.
Launching in 2013, our residency program will pair creative practitioners with people working in the field of olfaction. Together, they will implement specific cross-genre creative projects that involve a strong element of scent.
We are currently accepting project submissions. Proposals for the 2013 programming cycle are due by 5pm (PST) on Feb 1, 2013.

The Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles, seeks 8-10 puppetry performances for a one-day Family Puppet Festival on Sunday, April 7, 2013. The Festival will feature a wide range of puppetry, from small to large scale, utilizing diverse media, and drawing on a variety of cultural traditions.

The Museum of Arte Útil is a collaboration between the artist Tania Bruguera, the Queens Museum of Art, New York and the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven. The Museum of Arte Útil is the result of Tania Bruguera's decade of research into a concept that emphasizes effectiveness and implementation over representation, looking at historical and contemporary examples of alternative strands in socially informed art practice.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES PROGRAM MANAGER
The Ford Theatre Foundation seeks a dynamic arts professional with extensive knowledge of the performing arts and the local arts community in Los Angeles County to play a pivotal role in leading the planning, development, and implementation of active community engagement programs at the John Anson Ford Theatres and at partnering sites in Los Angeles County. The Program Manager will manage initiatives that will increase the diversity of disciplines and cultures represented on the Ford Theatres stage and in its audiences and deepen existing relationships with cultural communities in the region. This position will report directly to the Managing Director of Productions.
