Tree of Life is pleased to announce that information about our 2020 grant program is available on our website. Please visit the Grant Program link, www.treeoflifeartists.org/grant-program, to download the Grant Application Guidelines and Grant Application Form.
Tree of Life welcomes applications from artists of recognizable artistic merit, age 60 and over, who are permanent residents of the United States. These individuals must work in visual media, (which may include painting, sculpture, installation, works on paper, printmaking, photography, video, film, digital, or performance art), have a specific project that they wish to pursue, and have demonstrable financial need.
Applications will be accepted from February 10 through April 2, 2020.

SMUSH Gallery is now accepting applications to our Summer 2020 Arts Residencies! This program offers artists of all disciplines space for studio work, rehearsal, performance, and exhibition in our beautiful storefront art space. Artists receive up to 80 hours/week in select weeks from late June to late August, plus use of gallery equipment and publicity support. Non-profit and independent artists and organizations are especially encouraged to apply. Applications are due March 15th.

IHRAF Publishes is a growing platform for writers to submit poetry, creative nonfiction, short fiction, essays or any other format that comes from the heart, and focuses on social and activist themes. We base our work on the values of beauty, sincerity, vulnerability and engagement, and hope that these will be reflected in the submissions!
We publishes 32 pieces last year from 9 countries and 10 states. We will begin the process of anthologizing this activist writing work toward the end of 2020, with the eye toward publishing the best of our work in early 2021.

apexart will accept proposals for its International Open Call from February 1-March 1, 2020. Four winning proposals will become apexart exhibitions presented in selected locations around the world as part of its 2020-21 exhibition season. The Wendy’s Subway Residency Program supports a variety of projects at the intersection of literature, the arts, and publishing. This stipended residency provides artists, writers, independent publishers, and small-scale arts organizations with focused time to research, experiment, and develop creative projects, public programs, and publications over two to three months.

Residents receive a $600 stipend as well as an additional stipend of $1,000 for public programs, and further resources for a publication to be determined in relation to each resident’s project.

"SEEKING MURALIST to design, order materials, prepare, and lead a group of 30-40 inexperienced volunteers in painting a large wall mural on January 20th, 2020. Pay and staff support in advance and day-of included.

Local nonprofit Repair the World Harlem has received funding to utilize volunteer support to beautify a number of community spaces in Harlem, including a mural in the dance studio of the Police Athletic League student after school space (441 Manhattan ave) on MLK day, January 20th.
