Hi everyone,
I am looking forward to playing in Amsterdam later this month.
About the artists
Akrasi are a duo that produce mutations of dub and breakbeat with strong vocals, fierce beats and haunting melodies. Live performances combine digital and analogue instruments.
Akrasi met in Manchester organising jungle nights. They began to work on their own music which was heavily influenced by the eclectic style and D.I.Y attitude of soundsystem culture. German artists - Funkstorung heard this sound and invited them to Munich for their first performance supporting LTJ Bukem. An EP 'Zero1' was licensed through Funkstorung's label Sellwell. The duo performed several times to huge audiences in Germany and France alongside artists such as DJ Blame and Conrad. Encouraged by this Akrasi began to work on an album and set up their own label Zero-k.
With all love for the people that helped to create a strong, eclectic and diverse debut LP, 'We are In The Future' is a collaborative effort featuring artists such as Kevin Davy (KDQ/Lamb), MC BuzzB (LionRock) and DJ Peabird (Breakz R Uz).
Recently Akrasi have worked with Bristol drum and bass artist Rob Smith of Smith&Mighty, proudly contributing to his album aptly titled 'In one way or another' and 'towers open fire' a track on the Akrasi album, has been remixed by MoreRockers producer Peter D.Rose.
Live performances include: two SouthBank Festivals, Cargo, The Africa Centre, Covent Garden, The Crystal Palace Bowl, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Bristol, Munich, Paris and audiovisual installations in Barcelona and Battersea.
