I've been busy preparing for the 4th Howl! Festival of LES arts in Manhattan. Surprised that it happened this year after last years cancellation we have two shows in two venues in two days. WAR POEMS WAR MUSIC is pleased to announce that we've got David Peel and the Lower East Side headlining Saturday September 8th at BAR ON A located at 170 Avenue A not far from Tompkins Square Park on the corner of 11 street. We have a stellar lineup of poets including Lauren O'Brien whose anti-corruption piece OHIO is off the chain. Howl! was named after Allen Ginsberg's landmarrk poem and for those of you who don't know was part of a group of artists called The Beats for Beatific. Inspired by philosphies of the East and socilly outspoken they include Gregory Nunzo Corso, Jack Kerouac, Gary Synder, Kenneth Patchen, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, the late Cassady ( was it Neal? or is that the son of?) and of course Allen himself. avid Amram now in his 77th year was a collaborator with Jack Keruoac in one of the firts spoken word perfs in 1957 in a place caled the Brata Gallery. If you are in town 9/08 join us at Bar On A from 5:30 - 12 midnight . Sunday 9 we will be a A Gathering of Tribes Gallery from 5-7 pm at 285 East 3rd Street on the third floor. On the same block as The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Tribes was founded by Steve Canon who is a legend in his own right, They are on with a month long celbration : the 14th Annual Charlie Parker Festival. All eents are FREE.

I miss the NL and regale everone here with my stories of adventure, endless train rides laughter and radio shows. Hope to see Europe again in October.

Oh, that sounds fantastic. I wish I could be there! But I get to be in the NL in later September for our first AMPsterdam event. I may pass through NY on 9/18-19 - anything good then?
