Are you working on a documentary feature, in the early stages of production (or even research & development!) and looking for a supportive structure, creative input, and inspiring community?

UnionDocs’ Summer Documentary Labs are tightly structured environments in which a select group of filmmakers from the US and abroad think through every aspect of their works-in-progress. With an intensive schedule of screenings, open seminar discussions, inspiring artist visits, industry experts and weekly “site visits,” the labs bring together some of the most dynamic voices across the field of documentary.
We know how important it is for us to find ways to come together to repair and rebuild communities we have lost touch with during the pandemic. Six artists will be invited to bubble up together in the affordable residency at UnionDocs this summer, while another six filmmakers will have options to join remotely or commute in and join socially outdoors in our lush and fully-equipped backyard LEAN-TO.
Spend the Summer making strides on your work and clarify the creative direction of your project to attract the team members, funders and producers you need to find your way to the finish.
