This season we will offer instruction for Monotype and Photopolymer Etching. Printshop courses are appropriate for artists, beginners, and everyone interested in exploring printmaking as a creative medium. Instructors are artists and master printers who provide technical expertise and guided support to help turn your ideas into beautiful prints. All tools, basic materials, and additional free studio hours are included with the class fee!
MONOTYPE

This comprehensive workshop will introduce you to one of the most liberating forms of printmaking, with an emphasis on experimentation and creativity. Learn to create innovative one-of-a-kind prints using drawing, painting and stencils. Explore color mixing, brushwork, ghost images and stencils to create unique prints. We will pull highly developed monotypes by hand and with the aid of a press.

PHOTOPOLYMER ETCHING
with Mark Herschede
5 weeks, Wednesdays, 6-9pm
November 11 – December 16 (skips November 25)
Fee: $350
Photopolymer etching is the safest and quickest method for creating photographic imagery in etching. This is an easy and innovative way to create intaglio and photo etchings without the use of acid and other harmful chemicals. Hand-drawn, photo-based, or digital images are exposed onto light-sensitive polymer plates, which are developed in water and printed on an etching press.
•This course uses only Akua Waterbased non-toxic inks.
