Job Title: Art Intstructor/Printmaker
Salary: $12.00 – $15.00 per hour
Reports to: Program Supervisor
Position Location: 2616 Hobart Blvd., Los Angeles, CA
Job Responsibilities: The Instructor will work one-on-one with adult students with developmental disabilities to develop their own unique artwork for sale at our mid-city site and in other exhibition venues. This person should know a variety of printmaking techniques and other mixed-media techniques including drawing, painting, collage, etc. that can be adapted to create successful projects with our students. Responsibilities also include ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students, and helping to maintain an overall enjoyable studio for all participants. Applicant should know how to operate and maintain a professional printing press, and be able to demonstrate their knowledge through their art portfolio. Knowledge and interest in contemporary art needed. Instructor will implement artistic, educational, and behavioral treatment plans monthly. The position entails working with a several developmentally disabled clients at a time in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Experience with the developmentally disabled community is highly preferred, but not required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and technical printmaking skills. Six months related experience. Knowledge and interest in contemporary art needed. Must have a portfolio of finished work. Experience with the developmentally disabled community is highly preferred, but not required.
We nurture gifted artists with developmental disabilities. Our success is due to the chemistry between the Artists and Art Instructors who use their personal art making process to guide our artists through their projects.

4. Has an extensive portfolio and strong work ethic
5. Loves contemporary art and has a strong knowledge of contemporary artists.
6. Has patience
7. Loves working with people and is comfortable with adults with Developmental Disabilities
8. Can take initiative with projects
The following skills are required:
1. Expertise in all printmaking techniques (Lithography, etching, linocuts, metal plates, woodcuts, screen-printing…etc)
2. Can operate and maintain a professional litho combination etching press
3. Can organize and maintain the workspace

1. Primary schedule of Monday-Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
