The Opportunity
The Banff Centre is looking for a dynamic Director, Visual Arts and Walter
Phillips Gallery to envision, lead and manage the implementation of all
Visual Arts programming at The Banff Centre, including the studio residency
program, Walter Phillips Gallery, and the Banff International Curatorial
Institute.

Position Objectives
. Leads the Visual Arts department, envisioning a compelling future
for programs that meets the ambitions laid out in the overall strategic plan
of The Banff Centre

Ame Gilbert is seeking muralist/graffiti artists, comic book
artists etc. of Mexican descent to participate in a Oaxacan pig-roast fiesta
following a day-long conference of food writers/bloggers and media artists
in upstate NY on 9/15. While the conferences focus is on "old media, new
media and the false divide," we'll use the story of Mexican migration in the
Hudson Valley, and the Mexican contribution to agriculture and the food
industry. We have a side of a barn to paint to tell this rich story, as well
as walls to fill, music to make, poetry to speak and a zine to produce that
highlights the amazing contributors at the conference and fiesta. For more

Filmmakers wanted to join us on a Road Trip!

girltank is going on a road trip across the US, and we're inviting girltankers (female social entrepreneurs) to meet up with us at girltank events geared to raise money for projects on our crowdfunding platform, and we need filmmakers to join us in these select cities to document our spreading the girltank message far and wide!

We're looking for filmmakers in each city to help us film short clips at these events to put together into a larger video that we hope will go viral and get people excited about girltank, and, especially, want to support projects that girltankers want to get off the ground.

Overview
The Civic Art Program seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create an innovative, contemporary craft based artwork for the new Monroe Community Wellness Center. The new facility will be located on the campus of James Monroe High School in the North Hills neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley. Opportunities for integration are currently focused on the main entrance lobby, but may also expand to secondary interior spaces. This may include the addition of suspended sculptural details, hanging art or integrated wall treatments.
