Idyllwild Arts seeks a strategic visionary leader for their next President. Set on over 200 acres situated in the spectacular San Jacinto Mountains, near the picturesque village of Idyllwild, Idyllwild Arts Foundation is a nonprofit corporation founded on the premise that the arts provide a common language and that participation in the arts can not only enrich lives, but can change lives. The Mission of the Idyllwild Arts Foundation (IAF) is to promote and advance artistic and cultural development through education in a beautiful, natural environment conducive to positive personal growth. Idyllwild Arts is comprised of two major entities – Idyllwild Arts Academy and Idyllwild Arts Summer Program – both are under the umbrella of the Idyllwild Arts Foundation. The Idyllwild Arts Academy provides pre-professional training in the arts and a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum to a diverse student body of gifted young artists in grades 9 – 12 from all over the world. The Idyllwild Arts Summer Program provides arts instruction and experiences of the highest caliber to a diverse student population of all ages and abilities. For more information, please visit the Idyllwild Arts website at www.idyllwildarts.org.

Reporting to the Board of Governors, the President will be supported by the leader of the Academy Program (Head of School) and the leader of the Summer Program (Head of Summer) who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of their respective programs. He/she oversees an annual budget of approximately $18 million and a total of 108 full-time and 70 part-time faculty and staff.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts and a deep appreciation for their transformative powers. The individual should have a track record of success in working at a high senior level where fundraising is a key activity. Since it is likely that the President will travel abroad, knowledge of different cultures would be helpful. It is preferred that candidates have successful experience in Board and volunteer relations or comparable leadership experiences. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and forward-thinking individual who has shown success in building widespread support for an organization through collaborative efforts with internal and external stakeholders. He/she will be a creative person with a strong business sense and an understanding of customer service, finance, and marketing in a nonprofit or educational environment. The candidate will have demonstrated leadership capacity and experience building cooperative relationships that produce tangible benefits across organizations. An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
